Thank you everyone who responded so kindly to my post yesterday, I think I'm PMSing with a vengeance :-) Yesterday I was "glass half full girl" today is better. Kate is also better, her cough is significantly improved and she had a good night. I'm looking at getting more involved in the SCA here but there is very little in terms of an organized group, we seem to have a seneschal and two marshals, no exchequer, chatelaine, scribe, etc. It seems to be a very small group gathering mainly for fighter practice. I did go to one fighter practice which was in a dingy part of Dublin in a run down building, one of the gentlemen kindly escorted me to my bus because I wasn't comfortable walking. There is also a A&S evening posted on the website except I haven't heard anything about it happening on their list, I think its a bit of a no go. Even that would require quite a bit of doing to get to and I don't think I can make the last bus back to Clane (11pm) unless I just make an appearance and leave again right away. There doesn't seem to be any kind of business meetings. One of the other shires does seem to have a monthly potluck somewhere in Co. Offaly that I'm going to try to make not this month but next month when I should to have something to wear. We shall see how that goes. I finished stitching the head piece for the cyclas (looks a little like a wavy crown made out of linen), Katie says I look like a sailor :-) and it does look a tad like an old fashioned sailors hat. Tonight I'm going to put together a barbette and we will see how that looks.
