Update on Dad
Mar. 17th, 2006 01:27 pmFirst the good news, it's probably Hodkins Lymphoma and Dad has, at worst a 70% chance of making it through. It is possible that it may be a tumor behind the nose which would be more severe but still a good 70% chance.
The not so great news is that we are looking at minimum of six months of sick as a dog, which for my already not so healthy father will suck big time. After the operation, six weeks of radiation therapy during which he will be in hospital during the week with weekends at home to recover, then chemo. My parents say the doctor was very positive, I just hope he was not just blowing sunshine in an effort to get my Dad to go for the agressive treatment.
So now we go into research mode, what can we do to help him get through this and recover his strength as quickly as possible? Any thoughts, suggestions, website, and tips are appreciated.
Thank you everyone for your prayers, reiki and good thoughts, they mean a great deal.
Love,
Eva
