Everyone had a blast this weekend. Brian was in Clare, Kate was with Oma and Opa and was apparently extremely good. She was away from both of us for the first time and according to my Mother there was no problem getting her to sleep.

I was at one of the few Pagan Gatherings in Ireland, it's called Feile Draoichte and was held at a large hotel in the middle of Dublin. I got to shop and meet a couple of people that I have admired for a long time. JH Brennan gave a talk on his more recent insights on the topic of Astral Projection, he is a lovely gentleman and I would recommend his workshops highly. I also got to hear a longer talk by Dolores Ashcroft Nowicki on Traditional English Craft. Which was also immensly fascinating, she gave me her own crib notes as I had missed some spellings and terminology in my frantic note scribbling. She said she would come back next year to do a full workshop on this particular type of craft which is based on old traditions from the North of England. Very very cool stuff. If you ever get the chance to hear either of them run don't walk.

"The Challenge of Thor"
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I AM the God Thor,
I am the War God,
I am the Thunderer!
Here in my Northland,
My fastness and fortress,
Reign I forever!
Here amid icebergs
Rule I the nations;
This is my hammer,
Miƶlner the mighty;
Giants and sorcerers
Cannot withstand it!

These are the gauntlets
Wherewith I wield it,
And hurl it afar off;
This is my girdle;
Whenever I brace it,
Strength is redoubled!

The light thou beholdest
Stream through the heavens,
In flashes of crimson,
Is but my red beard
Blown by the night-wind,
Affrighting the nations!
Jove is my brother;
Mine eyes are the lightning;
The wheels of my chariot
Roll in the thunder,
The blows of my hammer
Ring in the earthquake!

Force rules the world still,
Has ruled it, shall rule it;
Meekness is weakness,
Strength is triumphant,
Over the whole earth
Still is it Thor's-Day!

Thou art a God too,
O Galilean!
And thus singled-handed
Unto the combat,
Gauntlet or Gospel,
Here I defy thee!
