I swear there are more statues here per capital than in any other place I have ever lived. Modern, historical, abstract, you name it we have it here. There is even a guide book published solely to describe the sculpture in Dublin. My favorite is a fountain with the spirit of the river Liffey portrayed in it, her actual name is Anna Liffey but the locals call her "the hoor in the sewer" :-)

Crappy day
Nov. 3rd, 2005 08:45 pmI have had a very long and tyring day. My new assignment is a very wealthy solicitors firm where no one seems very happy. It's nothing hugely overt but it's there. The secretaries all work late and through part of their lunch because of course whatever it is absolutely has to go out tonight. Also closing time is 5:30pm (because clients like to call at the end of the day so we are going to stay an extra hour, guess what, now they call at 5:30pm) as a result I am catching a later bus (barely) and I'm home later so I see Katie for maybe an hour on workdays if I'm lucky. Part of me really wishes that this assignment won't last long but who knows if there is another one on the horizon so I'm plugging away.
paradigmslost is amazing he cleans house, takes care of the K and has dinner ready for me when I come home, I don't know what I would do without him. We finally got the internet connection to work so I'm posting from home now which is nice. That's all I can think of at the moment, it's not quite 9:00pm and I am seriously contemplating going to bed I'm that tired.
