Stress levels are normalizing
Nov. 21st, 2005 02:53 pmI started my new assignment at Trinity College today and am much happier now that I'm not working for anal retentive dorks anymore. I love working in the academic sector, it has it's quirks but it's a lot better than the corporate world. My walk from the bus in the morning is a breeze and I should be able to catch the 5:00pm bus in the evenings with a little bit of a workout.
This weekend was pretty good, the whole family went for a jaunt with the intent to find the ocean and a new starbucks that opened in Dundrum. We left pretty late and I managed to navigate us through a couple of wrong turns. We didn't quite make it to the ocean, nor did we find the Starbucks but we had a good time nonetheless. (It turns out there is a brand new Starbucks accross the street from Trinity). We also trimmed one of Mom's Rosemary bushes in preparation for putting it in a pot, I now have two large jars of rosemary soaking in Vodka for tinctures, a bag full of fresh rosemary in a bag in the fridge and a veritable bush of the stuff hanging up to be dried (there is no way we are ever going to need this much rosemary so it's pretty much protective/decorative, I will eventually incorporate it in the wards).
The K is doing pretty well though she has a minor bit of the sniffles. One things I'm just a tiny bit concerned over is that her speaking hasn't made any real progress over the last few months. I'm putting it down to the move and all the upheaval in her life as well as the fact that we are still trying to find playmates for her. B & K are going to a toddler playgroup this Wednesday and I think having other kids to play with on a regular basis will be very good for her. I suspect once she has other kids to model on she will be babbling like a brook soon enough (not that she doesn't babble now, we just can't understand her).
This morning was one of those perfectly frosty mornings with heavy fog wreathing the silver countryside, it was beautiful.
