Lammas Weekend
Aug. 5th, 2008 02:01 pmWe had a great weekend (which was a bank holiday so it was a 3 day affair)it was nice and quiet for the most part and I think I'm over the cold I was battling. On Saturday Mom and I went to the Farmer's Market, it was raining on and off so the Girl stayed home with Papa. As it turned out the weather held and we got some of the most delicious veggies you have ever seen. After that we went to a local housewares shop that was selling off some of it's stock at 60% reductions because they are downsizing their business and we bought a large rectangular Irish linen tablecloth with 12 napkins for an absolute steal. It's great when you find things that are on your list to buy at such a big discount because this stuff doesn't come cheap, one big tablecloth usually runs around €300 the one we got was the 72"-126", you can see it here http://tinyurl.com/6ayowh along with matching napkins.
On Monday Mom and I decided that she needed more books so we took an impromptu trip to Waterstones on Dawson Street in Dublin. She got a bagful of Fantasy books, Kate and I didn't do badly either;-) If you are in the market for a comfort food book I would highly recommend Nigel Slater's "Real Food", amazing yummies. Apart from that we ate like Kings the whole weekend and put our feet up.
Oh and I got my hair colored on Saturday, closer to my natural color but a little warmer. I took a picture and will post it if I think of it tonight. They did a great job and even straightened it which looks a little strange but didn't last more than a day.
