Garlic Question
Jul. 30th, 2010 02:44 pmI may be completely crazy but I have heard about planting garlic in a polytunnel/glasshouse really really early in the year say January or even December. I live in Ireland in the middle of the country so the climate is temperate and a tad damp :-) Anyone else have experience with growing garlic that has heard of this practice? Generally I understand they are put in the ground in April/May. We are going to try both ways next year to see what will grow best in our conditions.
We are hoping to be able to put up a tunnel in September or October so we will be able to maintain a salad crop throughout the winter. Next year we may even get a tomato and pepper crop, dare I even say it aubergines.
