evaelisabethFrigga: Wow, I didn't see this one coming, in many ways Frigga is who I aspire to be like. Calm, centered, powerful, loving, generous. Her stories touch me in that deep place in my soul and echo.
runes: More than anything else the Futhark is my magical vocabulary, something about their stark simplicity and beauty speaks to me. They are the voices of the rocks and trees, the whisper of the gods in my ear, the sound of the wind and rain. They make the spirit world manifest in this reality and carry me into the realm of the spirits. Also they are much much easier than Enochian to deal with :-)
cooking: What can I say when I cook for my family and friends I make my love for them physically manifest. There are two basic physical things in a human beings life, you gotta breathe and you gotta eat. I believe its possible to elevate both of these to an art form. I know this may seem weird but the idea of a perfectly prepared simple dish made from the freshets ingredients harvested with care and respect makes me all verklempt in a good way :-)
art: Art is beauty created by human hand, it feeds the soul, nourishes the mind and enables us to transcend mundanity. The artwork that I own gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside when I look at it, beats grabbing a mars bar for cheering you up.
books: I don't remember a time I couldn't read, when I was really small I used to pretend so that my grandmother would read for me, I'm still unsure whether she was humoring me or not. Reading calms the whirring cogs in my brain, it enables me to see beyond the small corner of my world. Through reading I expose myself to ideas and practices that I could not otherwise. I horde books like a squirrel preparing for winter, books on all kinds of topics because one day we who are so blessed in this regard may not have access to the plethora of materials we do now.
