RIP Cherry Tree
Jan. 18th, 2010 10:17 amWe had the tree surgeon over this morning. Let me back up just a bit, remember that satellite TV appointment that we had to wait a month for, that was last week. Apparently one of our oak trees was enough in the way to stop the signal so after much cursing and moaning (mostly on my part) we decided to pollard it. This means that the tree will continue to live, we get a lot of firewood and material for staffs, etc. and our satellite signal should now get through. While he was here we asked him to look at the cherry tree we worked so hard to save during the build and he determined that it had canker bad enough that there was no hope for it so it went too.
On the positive side we should have satellite TV installed tomorrow and are planning to put in a Japanese Plum Tree where the old cherry tree stood. We lost one of those in the build that I was very fond of and I'm happy we now have room for a new one.
