My little girl frequently comes home with the newest Catholic Tidbit. Most recently it was that she needed to give something up for 40 days, it was something else before that. I'm going to try to talk to her teacher about this suggesting that they perhaps could incorporate other religious traditions into what they talk about in school. I realize that they are probably all Catholic except perhaps Kate but it would be nice to have a little multiculturalism in the classroom. Do you think I'm crazy to try? Should I just let sleeping dogs lie or do you have any suggestions as to how I could approach this. For the record I had this conversation with the principal at the start of term who assured me that anything the kids would be exposed to would be very general. Unfortunately all public education here is still in the hands of the church and we live in a little village in Ireland perhaps I'm expecting too much?
