Nervous for no reason

I just put my hat in the ring for a job I truly have a snowballs chance in hell of getting, but it makes my nerves jangle anyway. I'm doing it mainly to have my name out there with the HR office. It's an interesting job and would be a step up the ladder for me. It's in the College's Proctor's Office and manages the Commencements and alumni database (such as it is), it also manages the College Senate Elections. Trinity College is the only University in Ireland whose alumni get to elect an independent senator into the Irish Seanad, which is pretty cool in my opinion.
