Today is a nice quiet day, no boss, very few students so I'm not killing myself at work :-) Yesterday I made a pseudo mexican dinner with stuff from Old El Passo, Kate was cautious but did try some. It seems that all our herbs are surviving the transition as none seemed to have died yet from the shock of being stuffed into containers and moved. I'm trying to motivate in getting started on the garb for which I bought linen a while ago. I have decided to do a very plain basic version of the garb in the Manex Codex just to get all the proportions right. There will be a basic under garment T-tunic which a sleeveless overdress both of linen. Later versions will consist of the same set up but I'm going to look for a nice light wool and line it with the lightest linen I can find. Right now I'm not up for going the whole hog but I should have some nice serviceable plain garb which is what I need right now. I've been talking the SCA up with my Mom and have her enthusiastic about an early period Roman matron persona living in Britain. She would look adorable in that style and it would keep her cool which is of the utmost importance (we wouldn't want her keeling over at her first event. It will be so much fun dressing her up ;-)
