Daily Diary
Aug. 14th, 2007 02:20 pmYesterday was a weird mixture of pretty good day and IT Hell in the evening. The WiFi connector for our broadband arrived yesterday and installation was a true nightmare. I spent about 1 1/2 hours on the phone in total with two different techies. The first one actually told me that my computer needed to rest for 30 minutes after the installation did something that stopped it booting up completely. For a while there I thought we would have to do a complete system reinstall. The second tech guy was much more knowledgeable and stayed with me for over an hour until the problem was fixed.
On a happy note I received the first of two packages from a UK company, this one contained 2lbs of Blue Faced Leicester Wool Top and 500g of weld (for dyeing 6m of white linen, I probably won't use all of that but I like clear yellows and will use it on other projects). Now I'm waiting for the mordants and a couple of other dye stuffs to get here.
My two guys went swimming this morning and apparently much fun was had, at this stage I hope the short person is soundly napping so the tall person can get some stuff done around the house ;-)
Yesterday was weird on another level, my Mother's dog had to be put down quite out of the blue. Apparently she had cancer, she was 13 years old and had a good life but Mom is quite cut up about it. I'm also unsure on what to tell Katie when she notices that the dog is gone. Just a very strange sort of day.
