We have a tree
Dec. 22nd, 2008 08:51 amYesterday we celebrated Yule by putting up our tree after and emergency shopping expedition after we realized that we neither had sterno (fuel for our fondue pot) not a rack to roast the Christmas Goose on. We also decided that we must have a good star for the top of the tree and that
paradigmslost deserved some time for himself.
Our first stop was the Orchard Garden Centre where they have a pretty good selection of decorations I got some very pretty birds for the tree as well as a big platter for the goose and the desired star for the top. No sterno unfortunately we thought they might have it as the DIY centre we went to the day before didn't know what sterno was let alone what a fondue pot was for.
Our next stop was a brand new home/diy/garden centre near Prosperous (that's the name of the town between Clane and Allenwood). We browsed and actually found a scart lead for my Mom's TV which we were not looking for as well as a lovely roasting pan with rack for my goose. Still no sterno though. We came home totally exhausted and after a bit of a nap on the couch managed to put up our little potted tree. Oh I almost forgot, I'm a bit of a pushover when it comes to Kate and we also came home with a lifesize penquin which she is still clutching today.
Happy Yule Everyone.
