evaelisabethSo we figured out why Katy has been such a cranker for the last few days, new teeth will do that to you. One description I read once said it's like having a screwdriver jammed into your gums, over and over again. So she has one new tooth (which makes 7) and another one still trying hard to break through. Of course Kate's cranky is still pretty good, she is just such a mellow baby.
On another note, VIVAT to Lady Checheyigan on receiving her Palfrey (if you don't know what that is, ask her, it will make her day to talk about her horses).
I finished the Half Blood Prince yesterday morning and I must say I enjoyed it a great deal, the end was a shocker. On the one hand I can't wait for the next one, on the other hand I'm sad because then it will be done. I do have reading it with Kate to look forward to, that will be fun.
Oh my good gods it's been hot, today at last the heatwave seems to have broken and it was less than 70 degrees at dawn. We have been enjoying playing in the pool with Kate, but we can still do that when it's less than 95 degrees and 95% humidity.
One last funny, yesterday morning was my day to sleep in, I rolled out of bed, went to the bathroom and found a note tacked to the mirror.
"Took Papa to Carribou's, back soon, Love Kate"
It made me smile.
