I'm lazy what can I say
Feb. 13th, 2007 11:16 amI keep thinking of things I want to mention here and then don't get around to posting, I really want to be better about that so here comes a random thought.
A few days ago on a costuming list a lady posted a comment asking me if I was the Aoife (my SCA name) that she had done an Award of Arms scroll for recently. I replied that it was unlikely since I had been in Ireland for over a year and that the SCA scene is thin at best. I did give her a background of where I had played before and she replied that yes I was the lady she had done the scroll for. It appears that the Drachenwald (SCA Europe) Signet has an ongoing project of producing their enormous backlog of scrolls. I was awarded my AoA in absentia at the coronation of the first King of Drachenwald in 1993. This is why I love the society so much (no not because they are so behind ;-) because they care enough to put an enormous amount of work into a hand iluminated calligraphied scroll for someone they have never met. It's getting mailed to me and I can't wait to see it.
