evaelisabethWhen I came home yesterday, Kate was a little tired and cuddly, I thought perhaps that she was comming down with something but oh no. The little flea perked right up when it came to treats after dinner. She had been promised some ice cream and she gleefully demolished that, then we made treats for later, i.e. chocolate covered dried apricots. We had a lot of fun and she got to scrape out the bowl of melted chocolate which she then handed to me saying "hot chocolate please". There was a little chocolate left in the bow so I mixed in some milk and heated the whole thing till it was melted again. So she had some ice cream a couple of chocolate covered apricots, a bit of plain chocolate and half a glass of hot chocolate. Individually it wasn't much but apparently it amounted to enough sugar to keep her bouncing till about 10:30pm which is when I put an end to the party and firmly turned out her light.
I finally got the shipment that Amazon re-shipped after it got lost, my lovely husband actually had to go to the post office where it had apparently been vegetating. So now I'm reading "The Knights Next Door" and have a couple of fiction books waiting for me to get done with that. I also got a lovely comprehensive book on hand piecing a quilt which I look forward to perusing, I can't remember the author right now but I will add it to my library thing so go look there is you are interested.
I made a tiny bit of progress in my garb inserting the gores under the arms on one side, that means attaching a small square in the armpit area to give more freedom of movement. I just added the gore to one side and still need to close up the big side seams. After that I only have to hem it and will have it done, yeah. Oh and Mom showed me how to thread her machine again so I should be mechanically enabled once more, though I enjoyed putting the neck facing in by hand I think it looks better that way too.
