Green Thumb Question

So we are putting in all these little beds for herbs and flowers. Often the modus operandi is to plant a rose in the middle and then surround it with herbs and other edibles. All of these roses have been in pots for at least a year, they were all pruned in the pots and have sprouted leaves to varying degrees of success (read some of them are bigger than others). The first bed we created has one of these roses in it (its one of the smaller ones though it seemed to be doing just fine in the pot). Now about 2 weeks after planting its letting its leaves droop and generally looking very sad. All these beds were dug pretty carefully with compost added to lighten the soil and a good couple of handfuls of poultry manure incorporated when we were planting. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? We have had pretty hot weather over the last week or so hitting about 25-26C on the warmest days. We water every evening. I'm just not sure what else to do if anything. I would love to save this little rose, it's fragrant and orange and quite lovely when it blooms.
